Carmen Jacqueline Calder Mitchell
After a brief illness, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on December 7, 2014, Mrs. Carmen Jacqueline Calder Mitchell (nee Lank), wife of the late George A. Mitchell of Stuart Town, Deer Island NB. Born at Wilson's Beach, Campobello, N.B. on December 21, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Burnham and Doris (Calder) Lank. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Carmen is survived by one son: Dale (Lois) Mitchell; one daughter: Jane Susan (Gary) Conley both of Stuart Town; four grandchildren: Drew (Mireille) Conley of Stuart Town and their children, Sophia and Kate; Stephanie (Shane) Borthwick of St. George and their children, Rowan and Reese; Abbie (Dalen) Betts of Stuart Town and their son, Asher and Judson (Fallon) Mitchell of Lord's Cove and their children, Cohen and Brody; one sister: Rose Marie (Paul) Patterson of Fredericton and several cousins. In addition to her husband, George, Carmen was predeceased by one nephew: Kevin Patterson.

Carmen was a very active member of the Lambert's Cove United Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Society. Her passion was taking care of her family and cooking for everybody. She enjoyed visiting within the community and encouraging.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, N.B. Resting at the Lambert's Cove United Baptist Church, Lambert's Cove, N.B. with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The service will be held from the church on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Maurice Hatfield officiating, followed by the interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Lord's Cove NB. In Carmen’s memory, donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
