Joseph "Walter" Legacy

Unexpectedly at his residence on November 24, 2014, Mr. Joseph "Walter" Legacy of Lepreau NB. Born at Jacquet River NB on March 31, 1938 he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Guitard) Legacy. A loving brother, uncle and friend, Walter is survived by four brothers: Lester (Kaye) Legacy of New River NB, Henry (Brenda) Legacy of Pennfield NB, James (Danielle) Legacy and Jack Legacy both of Quebec; three sisters: Margaret Legacy (Byron Patterson) of St. George NB, Mary Legacy of Ontario and Agnes Legacy of Nova Scotia and special nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers: Joey and Fred.

Prior to retirement, Walter worked as a labourer in various fields around the local area. He was an animal lover and could often be seen outside with his dogs. He loved to tinker around the yard and do odd jobs for his family and friends, Walter was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed cutting wood and blueberrying when in season. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness towards others and his giving heart.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George. There will be no visiting. A service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 2 pm with Rev. Jonathan Springthorpe officiating. In Walter's memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Charlotte County SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
