Sheldon Eldon Hooper

At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on October 22, 2014, Mr. Sheldon Eldon Hooper, husband of Mrs. Theresa (Leavitt) Hooper of Back Bay NB. Born at Back Bay NB on October 22, 1931, he was a son of the late Andrew and Marion (Hatt) Hooper. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife Theresa, he is survived by four sons: Dewayne (Heather) Hooper of Blacks Harbour, Victor (Cindy) Hooper of Bocabec, Shawn (Kelly) Hooper of Lake Utopia and Jamie (Terri-Lee) Hooper of Caithness and; three daughters: Alma (Jamie) Munn of L'Etang, Nancy (Ritchie) Cooke of L'Etete and Julia (Lionel) Legault of Lake Utopia; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Alfred (Brenda) Hooper and Rufus Hooper both of St. George; two sisters; Pauline Hooper of St. George NB and Etta Price of Doaktown and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Sheldon was predeceased by his brothers, Andrew and Fraser.

Sheldon was a long time worker at Connor's Brothers. He was also an avid clam digger and fulfilled his working years joking and teasing his co-workers at the government garage. Sheldon was a kind and caring person and was loved by all who knew him. his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlights of his life.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George. Resting at the Sea View Full Gospel Church with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held from the church on Friday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating followed by the interment at the Crow Island Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances to the Sea View Full Gospel Church would be appreciated by the family.
