Maynard Arthur Gaudet
It is with deep sadness that we announce Maynard Gaudet's passing on September 10, 2014, at the Ridgewood Veteran's Wing. Maynard was born in Blacks Harbour NB, February 13, 1927 to the late Jesse and Phylena (Wilcox) Gaudet.

He joined the Army as soon as he became old enough and served until the war ended. In 1954 he decided to join the RCAF, serving 23 years. While in the RCAF in Halifax, he served on a couple of naval ships as a Meteorological Observer. Stationed in Chatham, N.B., France, Ottawa, ON, Cold Lake, AB, and Halifax, N.S. where he retired from the military.

He is survived by his loving wife, Zella (Burris) of 64 years. Two daughters, Gail (Douglas) Dewar and Trudy (Louis) Dalton, three grandchildren: Neil Dalton, Erin Dalton and Brian Dewar; Two sisters: Dorothy Carr and Mary (Austin) Richardson; One brother: Burton (Lola) Gaudet; Sisters-in-law: Georgie Gaudet, Vera Bernard, Jean Bradford, Betsy Turner and Donna McIntyre. Several nieces, nephews. Special nephews: Allan and Maynard Grant. He was predeceased by his brothers: Ernest, Albert, Ralph and James; and sisters: Marjorie Grant, Belva Carroll and Myrtle Lee.

Maynard spent a lot of his leisure time golfing, hunting and anything to do with outdoor activities. He loved to spend time with the boys at the camp, enjoyed card games, especially bridge and enjoyed his games of scrabble and chess. He was a member of the Calvary United Baptist Church, Blacks Harbour, N.B., the Masonic Lodge #12 F&AM, St. George, N.B. and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 40, St. George, N.B..

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB with visiting on Sunday from 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 2 pm with Rev. John Martin officiating followed by the interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ridgewood Veteran's Wing, Saint John, N.B. or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
