Harry Mark Bennett

Unexpectedly at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on September 9, 2014, Mr. Harry Mark Bennett, husband of the late Mrs. Mamie Muriel (Butler) Bennett of St. George NB and formerly of Back Bay NB. Born at Cross Creek NB on June 6, 1924, he was a son of the late Amos and Lottie Bennett. A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law, Harry is survived by one daughter, Daphne (Peter) Scott of Oven Head NB; two grandsons, Christopher (Amanda) Scott and Peter Scott Jr. (Tammy Williams) both of Blacks Harbour NB; great-grandchildren, Austin, Phillip, Vanessa, Abigail Robyn, Madeline Bree, Paige, Rachel and Lily; one niece, Diane Pratt of Penniac NB; one brother-in-law, Keith Stuart of Lambertsville NB and several cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Edward Bennett and by one sister, Marion Harvey.

Prior to retirement, Harry worked as a Security Officer at Point Lepreau and was also employed as a Forestry Officer. He had a passion for music and loved to spend his Sunday's in Blacks Harbour at the Stella Maris Country Jamboree. Harry was a people person who loved going for drives and going out for lunch. He was a long time member of the Lions Club in Pennfield NB and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Arrangements are in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. As keeping with Harry's wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery, Calder's Head NB on Thursday at 2 pm with Rev. Maurice Hatfield officiating. In Harry's memory, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
