For Cristal & Patrick If I only had five minutes the day you passed away, I would have had time to tell you all the things I needed to say. I never got to tell you how much you mean to me, Or that you were the best dad, better than any man could be. The last time that I talked to you I wish I would have known. I would have said I love you, and kept you on the phone. If I only had five minutes, the morning you passed away, I'd give you one last hug so tight and see your great big smile. I'd tell you that I don't think I could live without you, not even for awhile. I'd kiss your cheek and take your hand and tell you it's okay to go And tell you that I'll miss you, more than you'll ever know. But you were gone so quickly, One last car ride you'd take. Before you even knew it, you were standing at heavens gate. Now God has called upon you, It's time to get your wings. To leave this life behind you, And enjoy all of heavens beautiful things. So wait for me in heaven Dad, Don't let me come alone. The day the angels come for me, Please be there to bring me home. My blessings to you and your mom

Leah, Patrick and Kristal, I know we've not conversed much but please know I understand the sense of disbelief that comes with a sudden loss. My father passed unexpectedly when he was far too young as well. I can share that, unlikely as it may seem right now, time tends to smooth the sharp edges of grief and memories will be of comfort. Our age and gender difference meant Mickey and I didn't see much of each other when we were children and certainly, as adults, the same is true. Most of my recollections of the young man, I now realize, involve him reading, something to which I could certainly relate. I remember hearing of his talent with all thing mechanical on many occasions. I don't recall if he was ever seated at the card table during some Christmas dinners (but I suspected he did a turn or two like most of the Simpson cousins.) Aunt Shirley, Mary, Julie, Jamie and Andrew, I know you will find strength from those with you today and I hope you will forgive me for not being there in person. Please know that my thoughts and my love are with you.
— Kelly Ross

i just received a phone call, telling of your brother's death. i grew up knowing andrew best of all, but my brother timmy young, grew up with jamie and mickey. he was so sorry of hearing about your brother's passing and wanted me to sent some sort of note letting you know of how he felt. he starting telling me of how mickey was the best man when he got married, of the many times that they just sat back, had a few tockes and would just let time and troubles pass them bye. he also said he would try to visit on his next trip down from ontario. mickey will be missed by him with a great deal of kindness. from the young brother our deepest condolences. tim and wes young.

Dear Leah, Patrick, & Krystal,My heartfelt condolences to you, and Mickey's family as well,on his passing. I pray that God gives you strength in the days that lie ahead. Let your memories embrace you in those difficult days, and smile when you think of him. I know I will. Mickey would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, and his mechanical knowledge was amazing, he could fix anything! He loved animals, especially his HUGE pet rabbit, that most of us will remember from "back in the day". He was a great friend to many, and I will miss him forever, and remember him fondly, as well.
— Terry James

Our hearts go out to the whole family at this great loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
