Herbert Leslie Justason
At the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB on January 23rd, 2012, Mr. Herbert Leslie Justason husband of the late Mrs. Florence Lillian (Bent) Justason formerly of Pennfield NB. Born at Beaver Harbour NB on March 27, 1923, he was a son of the late Barney and Bertha (Currier) Justason. A loving father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by two sons; Leigh (Marjorie) Justason of Brampton ON and Calvin (Dawn) Justason of Pennfield NB, one daughter, Jill Justason of Pennfield NB, six grandchildren; Lisa Joye, Lisa, Sherri, Carrie, Melanie and Derek, eight great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, two sisters; Eunice Fraser of Lake Utopia NB and Charlotte Brown of Beaver Harbour NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by one daughter, Linda Georgie, one brother, Blanchard and by two sisters, Nina O’Neill and Jeane Mowatt.

Prior to his retirement, Herbie worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Irving Woodlands. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served as a MP with the North Shore Regiment at Camp Utopia where he mostly transported POW’s. Herbie was a simple man, who enjoyed hunting and had a passion for horses.

As keeping with Herbie’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at the Lepreau Community Cemetery in the spring. In Herbie’s memory, donations to the Fundy Nursing Home or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB.
