Elizabeth "Betty" Jean Cook
At the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB on January 15, 2012, Mrs. Elizabeth ”Betty” Jean Cook, wife of Mr. Wesley “Skinny” Arnold Cook, formerly of Pennfield NB. Born at Pennfield NB on October 16, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Irene (Wainwright) Palk. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, in addition to her loving husband, Skinny, she is survived by five children; Brian (Nancy) Palk of Saint John NB, Wayne (Irene) Cook of St. Stephen NB, Rose Richard (Art Maillet) of Pennfield NB, Sheila Cleghorn (Keith Hunter) of St. Stephen NB and James (Mary) Cook of Utopia NB, six grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one sister, Eleanor Young of Saint John NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty was predeceased by three brothers and by three sisters.

Prior to her retirement, Betty was employed at Connors Brothers. In her spare time she enjoyed going for walks with her husband, Skinny, or playing her favourite game, Bingo. She will be fondly remembered for spoiling all the local children and having a sense of humor which made everyone laugh. Her love and laughter will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held at the Christ Church (Anglican), Pennfield NB on Tuesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Canon Keith Osborne officiating. The interment will take place at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Passamaquoddy Lodge would be appreciated by the family.
