Charles Melvin Neathway
1920-2010
Prior to his retirement, Charles worked for Connors Bros. in Blacks Harbour NB for over 40 years as a Foreman and Sealing Machine Technician. He enjoyed woodworking, painting and doing small engine repairs for his friends and neighbours. Charles was a veteran of the Second World War having served overseas from 1939 until 1945 as a Gunner with the 105th Anti-Tank Battalion of the 8th Hussars, seeing action in North Africa, Italy, Holland, France and England. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 40, Blacks Harbour. He will be sadly missed by all his friends and family.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Wednesday at 2 pm followed by the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home will take place on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2 pm. In Charles’ memory, donations to the NB Kidney Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
