Michael Daniel Wilcox

The passing of Michael Daniel Wilcox, loving husband of Suzanne (Mclaughlin) Wilcox occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on January 24, 2024. Born at Blacks Harbour NB on September 3, 1952, he was a son of Leona (Robichaud) Wilcox of Utopia NB and the late Vinton E. Wilcox.

 

    A loving husband, son, father, grandfather, uncle and nephew, he is survived by his loving wife Suzanne, his daughter; Kristen (Brad) Hawkins of Rothsay NB, his son; Nicholas (Crystal) Wilcox of Pennfield NB, his mother; Leona of Utopia NB, four grandchildren: Austin, Isobella, Emma and Cole, his brothers: Robert (Angie) Wilcox of Geary NB, Stephen Wilcox of Utopia NB, James (Rita) Wilcox of Pennfield NB, Daniel (Patricia) Wilcox of Musquash NB and David (Betty) Wilcox of Lincoln NB, his sister; Peggy (Roger) McLaughlin of Saint John NB as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Vinton.

 

   Prior to his retirement, Micheal worked over 17 years as a laborer for Cooke Aquaculture in Beaver Harbour. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved fishing. Michael was also a hockey fan, and as a Leaf fan, always patiently waiting for a win or that big winning season.

 

    Michael was a devote family man who cherished time spend with his family. He always spoke of his children with pride and had a strong adoration for his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and especially by his furry friends and faithful companions: Ben and Eddie.

  

 Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) from where the service will be held on Monday at 2pm. Interment will take place in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery in the spring. Visiting at the funeral home chapel will take place on Monday from 12 noon until service time. In Michael’s memory, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Diabetes Association of New Brunswick or charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
