Zeta Margaret (Lackie) Johnson

The death of Zeta M. (Lackie) Johnson, wife of the late John W. Johnson occurred peacefully on November 25, 2020 at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB. Born on October 16, 1933 in Upham, Kings County NB, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Lackie. Zeta is survived by her only daughter: Jillian Gentleman (Bill) of Rothesay NB; grandchildren: Erin and Gregory; her sister: Thelma Floyd of Saint John NB; brother: Gary Lackie (Sandra) of Hampton NB; niece: Kathy Floyd; and nephews: Tim, Mark and Todd. Zeta is also survived by her late husband's children: Lorene Lisson (Jeff) of Nauwigewauk NB, Janet Lynch (Dean) of Pennfield NB and Doug Johnson (Phyllis) of Canal NB and their children, grandchildren and families. In addition to her parents and husband, Zeta was predeceased by a grandson: John D. Johnson.

After high school, Zeta attended teachers college in Fredericton and taught in various locations, including in Newfoundland, Saint John and in the Charlotte County area where she retired from the Pennfield School in 1988. She enjoyed curling, knitting and spending her free time being surrounded by her family.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. At Zeta's request there will be no visiting or funeral service. A private, immediate family only graveside service will be held at a later date at the Titus Hill Cemetery, Upham Parish, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society or to the Titus Hill Cemetery would be greatly appreciated by the family.
