Colin Leroy Hatt
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on September 6, 2020, Mr. Colin Leroy Hatt of Utopia passed away following a period of failing health. Born at Lake Utopia on November 2, 1944, he was a son of the late Arnold and Isabella (McNichol) Hatt.

A loving father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by: his son; Colin Jr.(Richelle Whittier) of Utopia NB, daughter; Sheila (Hal) Hardy of Fort McMurray AB, his beloved grandchildren; Tanner Hatt and Ryan and Shelby Hardy, brothers: Arnold Jr. of Utopia NB, Dale Hatt of Pennfield NB, Allan Hatt (Josephine Collins) of Utopia NB, Brian (Jane) Hatt of St. George NB and David (Beth) Hatt of Utopia NB, sisters: Gertrude (George) Paul, Betty Marshall, Patricia "Patsy" (Ronnie) Roy and Jane (Brian) Ward all of St. George NB and Dorothy "Dot"(Jeff) Hanley of Utopia as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Kenny Hatt.

Prior to his retirement , Colin worked for A. Hatt Construction for several years as a heavy equipment operator. In his younger years, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and going to his camp to enjoy the great outdoors. On Saturday mornings he could often be found at the lake store having coffee with the boys and in later years, he looked forward to going for drives and visits with family and friends. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to his good friend Shawn Hooper and his wife Kelly for all their help, kindness and support shown to Colin which will always be appreciated. Colin will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Although there will be no visiting at the funeral home, a graveside service will be held at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery on Tuesday at 2pm with Pastor Gordon Cooke officiating. Please keep in mind social distancing rules will apply. In Colin's memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated.
