Carol Dawn Harris
1963-2020
Carol is survived by her adoring husband Sterling, daughter Eden and son in-law Devin Troke, sisters Linda (Bob) Justason and Cathy (Steve) Howes, nieces and nephews Evan Justason (Victoria), Tracy (Scott) Underwood, Adam (Betsy) Howes, Matthew (Christina) Howes, Stephanie Howes, and 8 great-nieces and nephews.
Carol was a lifelong member of the St. George Baptist Church where she served as a youth group leader and Sunday School Superintendent for several years. Organizing and directing the annual Christmas production was one of her many passions and contributions to the community.
Carol graduated from Fundy High School in 1981 and was awarded the Birks Medal for Leadership. She earned her Bachelor of Education degree from UNB in 1988 and taught kindergarten at St. George Elementary for 25 years. Carol retired early from her passion of teaching with immense regret in 2016 to combat her illness.
Carol and her family spent many enjoyable summers camping at Pine Cone Campground in Sussex, NB. Carol also loved to travel and had endless stories of the family’s numerous adventures. Her travels included Europe, Hawaii, multiple Caribbean Cruises, and of course excursions to Florida and New York City. Carol’s love of shopping was legendary, and trips to Bangor were frequent and eventful. She enjoyed assisting family and friends with their own travel plans. Many would say she could have excelled as a travel agent.
