Raymond ``Raymie`` Stanford Young
The passing of Raymond ``Raymie`` Stanford Young, loving husband of the late Maxine Louise (Richardson) Young, formerly of Hibernia Cove NB occurred on July 5, 2020 at the Orchard View Long Term Care Home, Gagetown NB. Born at Deer Island on June 13, 1937, he was a son of the late Cyril and Mildred (Richardson) Young. A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Raymond is survived by his sons: Allison Young, Mark (Sue) Young, Brian Young and Ralph Young all of Deer Island NB; daughters: Faye (Randy) Doughty and Teresa (Cecil) Richardson both of Deer Island NB and Joan (Mark) Thompson of Fredericton NB; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother: Gary Young of Deer Island NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Raymie was predeceased by his wife Maxine, son in law Cecil and three great grandchildren.

Raymie worked all his working life in the fishing industry as a lobster fisherman as well as tending weir. He also was an avid sportsman who loved hockey and baseball and was a true Toronto Maple Leaf and New York Yankee fan respectively. Raymie also enjoyed his time spent with his family as well as his local drives and eating out at restaurants. He will be sadly missed by his family as well as his island friends. The family would also like to thank the management and staff of Orchard View Long Term Care Home for their kind, loving and compassionate care given to Raymie throughout his stay with them.

Resting at the Leonardville Church of Christ, Leonardville NB with visiting on Wednesday from 3-7 pm. A graveside service will be held at Leonardville Community Cemetery on Thursday at 2pm with Pastor Jonathan Hatt officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leonardville Cemetery Fund or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
