Richard "Ricky" G. Leavitt

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Richard "Ricky" G. Leavitt announce his passing on June 2, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB with his son and daughter by his side. Born in Saint John NB on July 1, 1955, he was a son of Bernard "Pat" Leavitt and the late Annie (Proctor) Leavitt.

A hard working man, Rick was well known for his kind and generous heart and his great sense of humor. He took great joy in hunting and fishing with his son, family and friends. Rick was employed at Irving Pulp and Paper, Saint John West for 35 years prior to his retirement. He truly loved his family and friends dearly and enjoyed every moment he was able to spend with them.

Rick will be forever missed by Leah (Lanigan) Leavitt; his children: Scott (Cindy) Leavitt of Saint John NB and Mandy (Curtis) Blagden of Musquash NB; his grandchildren: Cooper, Calvin and Owen; his father: Bernard "Pat" Leavitt; his siblings: Brenda (Robin) Baldwin; Bernie (Darlene) Leavitt and Angie (Jason) Gaudet; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his mother, Rick was predeceased by one brother in infancy: David.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. As keeping with Covid-19 restrictions, services for Rick will be private. A graveside service will be held at the St. George Rural Cemetery with Rev. Mary Ann Langmaid officating. In Rick's memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer or to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
