1940-2020

Hazel Norma McLean
Hazel Norma McLean
Peacefully, at Fundy Nursing Home in Blacks Harbour NB, Hazel Norma McLean passed away. Born May 20, 1940 at Second Falls to Wilbur and Florence McLean. Hazel lived most of her life in Bonny River, NB. She is survived by siblings, Hazen McLean (Carroll) of Middleton NS, Margaret King of Bonny River, Darlene Anthony (Bill) of St George, Howard McLean (Sharon) of Saint John and Tammie Brennan (Pat: Hazel’s very special brother) of Bonny River. Also survived by nieces: Susan, Carrie, Tina, Crystal, Laura and Katy, nephews: Wayne, Stephen and Joe, and many great nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents Wilbur and Florence (Buchanan) McLean of Bonny River NB, her brother Murray, brother in law’s, Louis King and Leigh Anthony and by many aunts and uncles and cousins.

Hazel was a sweet soul to all and will be greatly missed. Hazel never had kids of her own but she was a mother to many over the years she helped raise her baby sister, and she helped take care of her nieces and nephews over the years. She also did a lot of babysitting for many in the Second Falls/Bonny River/and Pennfield areas in her younger years. She was a great caretaker and loved them all. She also loved all her animals and was a babysitter for many beloved pets over the years. Hazel loved her shows and she pretty much had the reruns of Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons and Highway to Heaven episodes memorized. She also had a humorous side and loved to play jokes on people, and had lots of fun joking around. It was always fun to get her laughing as she would not be able to talk from laughing so much.

Hazel had a big heart and would always put others first; she was a kind soul. She always had a sweet smile for all, but most importantly she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; and she is with Jesus in Heaven right now! She was a longtime member of the Second Falls United Baptist Church, and in her later years she was a member of Sea View Full Gospel Church in Back Bay. She loved getting out to Church when she was able and she never turned down a prayer and found peace in being prayed for. Special thanks to Pastor Randy and Paula Crozier for visiting and praying for her the last few years.

Hazel knew a lot of people and was known by many over the years. She remembered everyone and was always concerned about others. The family would like to thank the many friends and neighbors who helped Hazel over the years. She had a lot of people that would help her out with many things when she was living on her own, we could not name them all.

Our family would like to thank the girls at the Fundy Nursing Home, you guys are going through unprecedented circumstances and you did your best, Hazel loved you all, and you treated her like family.
