Ella Josephine Barker
Ella Josephine "Jo"(Lee) Barker, beloved wife of Alfred "Al" Charles Barker, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on March 4, 2020. Born at Bonny River NB on July 1, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Justason) Lee.
She is survived by her sons: Brian (Martha) and Mark (Jennifer) , her daughter; Jacqueline (Gary), grandchildren: James Barker (Tabatha), Cheryl Barker (Nick Porter), Abigail Barker, Kristin LeBlanc and Benjamin LeBlanc, great grandchildren: Tansy, Stella, Trinity and Isabel, brothers: Sheldon Lee, Gary (Diane) Lee and Robert Lee, sisters: Betty Sampson, Jeanette (Wick) Dobbin and Sharon (Brian) Hoyt and sister in law; Yvonne Lee as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers: Arthur and Lawrence "Rusty", sisters in law; Joan and Nedra Lee and brother in law Joe Sampson.

Mum met the love of her life when she was a telephone operator at Camp Utopia in 1954. They married in 1955 and then travelled the world. Mum was a stay at home mother looking over her three children. Mum was an avid outdoors person who loved fishing and spending time at their cottage at Lee Settlement. Ella also loved to cook as well as taking care of her cats. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and her cat "Muddles".

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The service will be held from the Second Falls Baptist Church, Second Falls NB on Saturday at 2pm with Pastor Greg Card officiating followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments at the Bonny River Fire Hall. Interment in the Second Falls Baptist Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to C.A.R.M.A, St. George Animal Shelter or a charity of the donors choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
