Michele Frances Kallio
1947-2020
Beloved wife Of 52 years of David Oscar Kallio, cherished mother of Jennifer Kallio-Schell. She is predeceased by her parents, Beny and Ruth Silverman, and her loving aunt Rose Grinberg.
Michele was born in Connecticut, and lost her mother at a young age. Raised by her Aunt Rose, Michele met a young student living upstairs from them in Miami Florida who would become the love of her life. Marrying and then emigrating to Canada they both became teachers in rural Nova Scotia in 1968.
She tirelessly supported her husband as he completed medical school and enlisted in the Canadian Forces. Later they set up a private medical practice and worked hand in hand in Nova Scotia and then Blacks Harbour for over twenty five years.
Michele was a talented artist and a published author. Her 2nd book remains a work in progress. She instilled in her daughter Jennifer the importance of books, and of being loving to your spouse. Her love of travel and fine art was a lifelong interest and she enjoyed traveling the world with David. May her memory be a blessing.
