Mavis Maude Leavitt
Peacefully at Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB on November 11, 2019, Mavis Maude (Johnson) Leavitt, wife of the late Frank Eugene Leavitt of Beaver Harbour NB. Born in Marysville NB on January 23, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William and Glenna (Collins) Johnson. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and sister-in-law, Mavis is survived by sons: Terry (Pam) Leavitt of Utopia NB and David (Janet) Leavitt of Stanley NB; eight grandchildren: Shelly, Stacey, Terri-Ann, Stephanie, Shannon, Sean, Lesley and Ryan; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law: Shari Leavitt of Beaver Harbour NB; niece: Sheila (Jim) Dillon of Fredericton NB; sister-in-law: Mae Johnson of Fredericton NB; several cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Mavis was predeceased by one son: Kevin Leavitt; one brother: Donald Johnson.

Prior to retirement, Mavis worked as a secretary for Environment Canada for over twenty years. She was a seasoned traveler who enjoyed trips to Ireland, Scotland and other parts of Europe. Mavis was a member of the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church and was an avid musician who played piano and sang with the church choir. She enjoyed staying involved with her community and was a member of the Harbour View Seniors Group. She was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ridgeview Manor in Pennfield and The Passamaquoddy Lodge in St. Andrews for their kind and compassionate care. Your love and support will always be remembered.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church, Beaver Harbour NB with visiting on Saturday beginning at 1:00 pm leading into the Funeral Service at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bill Lea officiating followed by the interment in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. In Mavis' memory, donations to the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church or to the St. George Animal Shelter would be appreciated by the family.
