The passing of Kenneth George Mealey of Pocologan NB occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on October 24, 2019. Born in Pocologan NB on January 5, 1931, he was a son of the late Harry and Hazel (Campbell) Mealey. Kenny is survived by sons: Gary Mealey (Sherri) and Mark Mealey (Daphne); one daughter: Valerie Porter (Brian); a few grandchildren; one brother: Charles Mealey; one sister: Alice McLane; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Kenny was predeceased by one son: Christopher Mealey; one brother: Cecil Mealey; and sisters: Bessie O'Neil, Hazel Winters and Beatrice Mealey.

Prior to retirement, Kenneth worked various seasonal jobs in the local area including clam digging and forestry work. He had a passion for music and at the age of 17 taught himself to play the guitar and could often be heard playing his favourites by Hank Snow. He was a soft hearted and generous man who enjoyed watching the Dodgers in the summer and the Canadiens in the winter. Over the last few years, Kenneth struggled with his health but always tried to keep a sense of humor. He looked forward to his family visits and enjoyed telling stories and watching TV together.

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bruce Alcorn officiating, followed by the interment in the Pennfield Baptist Cemetery. Visiting will take place at the funeral home chapel on Monday from Noon until the service time at 2:00 pm. In Kenny's memory, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
