Ruby Pearl Cooke
The passing of Ruby Pearl Cooke, wife of the late Frederick William Cooke formerly of Utopia NB occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on October 10, 2019. Born in Carleton County NB on September 9, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Florence (MacDonald) Stoddard. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Ruby is survived by her children: Davis (Juanita) Cooke of Utopia NB, Ken (Robbin) Goss of Massachusetts, Sterling (Marilyn) Cooke of Utopia NB, Phyllis (Carl) MacLean of Utopia NB, Lorena (Kevan) MacLean of PEI, Lewis (Joann) Cooke of Alberta and Hazen (Fran) Cooke of Smithtown NB; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother: Lewis Stoddard of St. Stephen NB; two sisters: Gladys Cooke of St. Stephen NB and Geraldine Disher of Chamcook NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby was predeceased by her children: Janie, Ellen, Allen and Audrey; one granddaughter: Jane Morrison; and her siblings: Juanita Lloyd, Hattie Cooke, Nadine White, Royetta Hatt and Linwood Stoddard.

Ruby spent most of her life in service to her family. A homemaker by trade, she tended to not only her children but those they brought home with them. She was always cooking and baking and made sure everyone who came through her door felt loved and welcomed. In her quiet time she enjoyed being in the garden tending to her flowers. Her love and warm heart will be sadly missed by her loving family and many friends.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the funeral home on Monday, October 21, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The service will take place from the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 11:00 am followed by the interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Ruby's memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
