The passing of Margaret "Peggy" Eileen (McBride) McLaughlin, wife of the late Patrick Alistair McLaughlin of Chamcook NB occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on September 27, 2019. Born in Rouyn-Noranda QC on March 5, 1940, she was a daughter of the late John Ernest and Gladys Eliza (McRobert) McBride. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, Peggy is survived by her daughter: Susan McLaughlin-James (Thomas) of Bar Harbour ME; her grandchildren: Tucker and Lily James also of Bar Harbour ME; one sister: Shirley Draper (Jim) of Brantford ON; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Prior to retirement, Peggy once worked as a Paralegal and in her later years, owned and operated the Work World Store in Fredericton NB with her late husband, Patrick. A people person, Peggy enjoyed meeting new friends where ever she went and looked forward to the time spent at the Tim Horton's in St. Andrews with her coffee club friends. She loved music and had a great gift at playing the piano. Peggy was an active member of the Brunswick Street Baptist Church in Fredericton and was also a member of the St. Andrews Catholic Church. In her quiet time she enjoyed to read and keeping up with politics as she was a member of the PC Party of NB. Whatever Peggy became involved in, she was always willing to lend a hand and put her heart into everything she did. She loved her family more than anything else and loved taking care of her grandchildren and grandpets. She will be missed greatly, but always remembered for being a kind and caring soul.

As keeping with Peggy's wishes, there will be no visiting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the St. Andrews Catholic Church, St. Andrews NB on November 9, 2019 at 11:00 am, followed by the interment in the parish cemetery. In Peggy's memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer or to the Charlotte County Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
