John Joseph Johnston

1971-2019

John Joseph Johnston
It is with great sadness that the family of the late John J. Johnston announces his passing after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, September 22, 2019.

John will be lovingly remembered and missed by his mother, Hazel (Turner) Johnston and his siblings, Cindy, David, Gordon, Rosa and Carrie. John will be forever remembered by his nieces, nephew, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Hazen Johnston; sister, Susan G. Cook; grandparents and aunts and uncles.

John was born on July 7, 1971 in Blacks Harbour NB. He was raised in Blacks Harbour from birth until the time of his passing. John attended school in Blacks Harbour and then Fundy High in St. George NB. He worked numerous jobs in his life, including the Boat Shop in Tunaville, for the Village of Blacks Harbour and finally for Granite Town Farms in St. George. John had many hobbies and interests. He was most known for his wood & glass work and did beautiful sketches and drawings. John lived a quiet and peaceful life and he was gentle and kind to everyone he met. John's number one love was his truck and the house he started building almost 10 years ago. Unfortunately, John was not able to finish his dream home before his passing. John will always be remembered as a fighter. He was diagnosed four years ago with Lung Cancer and after surgery he went through a chemo regime. As the cancer continued to spread, John continued his fight. He never complained and fought hard with a smile on his face. John loved his family and the life he had made and near the end, he found great comfort in God. His smile, helping hand and care for others will be missed greatly by everyone who knew him.
