Jean Nelles Seamans

At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton NB on May 27, 2019, Mrs. Jean Nelles (MacDonald) Seamans of Fredericton NB, wife of the late Whitman Seamans formerly of St. George NB. Born in Ottawa ON on December 18, 1922, she was a daughter of the late James and Marion (Mills) MacDonald. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Jean is survived by her son: Hubert (Nancy) Seamans of Riverview NB; daughter-in-law: Theresa Seamans; grandchildren: James (Rachel) Seamans, Mark (Shana) Seamans, Kelly Aitken, Kathy Seamans, Kristopher (Alana) Seamans, Jacey Dugas (Geoff), Jaime (Steven) Leard and Jordan Dugas (Annie Pier); 12 great-grandchildren; special family friend: Tracy; caregivers: Marion and Laveran; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was predeceased by one son: Ashley Seamans; two brothers: George and Ashley.

Jean devoted her life to taking care of her family. Jean's husband Whitman was the love of her life and with his passing in 1999 she was left with a huge void as they did everything together. They loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, especially in St. Andrews. They lived in St. George until 1967 from where the moved to the Miramichi and finally settled in Fredericton. They also enjoyed gardening together and were both very active in Curling Clubs and their local Legions. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street St. George NB from where the service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 2:00 pm with Jason Hooper officiating, followed by the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home will be held on Thursday beginning at Noon until the service. Immediately following the interment, a reception will be held at the St. George Legion, Branch # 40. In Jean's memory, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
