Gaston Jacques Joseph Verrier
Unexpectedly at his residence in St. Andrews NB on May 17, 2019, Gaston Jacques Joseph Verrier, husband of the late Faye Elaine (Hoyt) Verrier, formerly of Cole Harbour NS. Born in Drummondville QC on May 31, 1940, he was a son of the late Gerard and Berthe Verrier.

A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Gaston will be lovingly remembered by his son: Darren Verrier (Patti); grandchildren: Tara Hamlyn (Rob) and Christine Good (Roy); great-grandchildren: Autumn and Harmony Hamlyn and Dakota and Tesa Good; sisters: Micheline MacKinnon (Art) and Sylvie Verrier; brother: Rene Verrier (Suzanne); sister-in-law: Sandra LeBlanc; brothers-in-law: Doug Hoyt (Pat) and Dale Hoyt; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Gaston was predeceased by brothers: Marcel, Jean and Andre Verrier; brother-in-law: Gordon "Bud" LeBlanc; and nephew: Dale Hoyt Jr..

Gaston served with the Canadian Military from where he retired as a Warrant Officer in 1982. He then began working as an Avionics Manager with IMP Aerospace until his retirement in 1999. A devoted husband and father, Gaston often put the needs of his family first. In their younger years, he and Faye often hosted gatherings at their home in Cole Harbour and they always enjoyed having a house full of family and friends. Since retirement, Gaston has spent his hours devoted to Faye, being with his family and enjoying a game or two of golf. His humor, devotion and commitment to his family will be truly missed.

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street St. George NB on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at (notice time change) 2:30 pm, followed by the interment for both Gaston and Faye at the St. George Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to your local SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
