Constance "Connie" Laura Belle Hatt

1940-2019

Constance "Connie" Laura Belle Hatt
The passing of Constance "Connie" Laura Bell (Bennett) Hatt, wife of Dale E. Hatt of Pennfield NB, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on May 10, 2019 with her family at her side. Born in Pennfield NB on March 9, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Basil and Jessie (Armstrong) Bennett. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Connie will be forever loved by her husband: Dale; her children: Gregory (Mary) Hatt of Blacks Harbour NB, Jeffrey (Carolyn) Hatt of St. George NB, Kevin (Linda) Hatt of Pennfield NB, Terry (Krista) Hatt of Lepreau NB and Tammy (Eric) Koteff of Pennfield NB; grandchildren: Nicholas, Devin, Adam, Miranda, Kayla, Nina, Lorissa, Kyle, Chelsey and Jackie; great-grandchildren: Emma, Olivia, Jake, Ellie, Gracie, Beckett and Isla; one brother: Mervin (Cathy) Bennett of Stratford ON; two sisters: Joan (Sheldon) Justason of Pennfield NB and Barbara Hatt of St. George NB; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by one daughter: Wendy Hatt.

Prior to retirement, Connie worked as a cook and pie maker at Smitty's in Pennfield for close to 29 years. To know Connie was to love her. She had a bubbly personality and could light up the room as she entered. She lived for any family function so she could be surrounded by her loved ones. Connie loved cooking and her family looked forward to reaping the benefits of her labours. She enjoyed music and singing and in her quiet time she could be found reading or doing the daily puzzles in the paper. She had a love for animals and often talked about her dogs that have come and gone over the years. Spending most of her life on the Woodland Road in Pennfield, Connie had a strong connection and love for her neighbours. In her later years, Connie was introduced to her iPad and loved keeping close connections with her grandchildren who lived away. Her humor, love, support and devotion to her family will be sadly missed.
