Margaret "Jean" Dick
At the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB on March 23, 2019, Mrs. Margaret "Jean" (Barry) Dick, wife of the late George "Elwood" Dick, formerly of L'Etete NB.

Born at Caithness NB on May 14, 1924 she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Lena (McGarrigle) Barry.

A loving mother, grandmother and aunt, Jean is survived by her two loving sons; Colin (Rosa) Dick of Beaver Harbour NB and Thomas (Clare) Dick of Caithness NB, her grandchildren; Jana (Billy) Muxworthy, Jennifer McInnis (Adam Fowler), Sarah Dick, Ryan Dick, Jacinta Dick (Lee Nickerson) and James Dick, great grandchildren ; Zachary, Leah, Lucas and Gracesen as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and her husband Elwood, she was predeceased by sisters; Catherine Frost and Madeline Murray and brothers; Arthur, James, Weldon, John and Richard. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Jean grew up and lived in the L'Etete area before marrying her husband Elwood, who after joining the air force, the two of them travelled and lived in many places before returning back to L'Etete with her family in 1974. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting and enjoyed travelling even if it was to a local event which she use to take in many as Jean loved gatherings and a good pot luck. She also enjoyed company, especially her family and grandchildren. Jean spent her last four years at the Fundy Nursing Home in Blacks Harbour where she could be seen travelling the hallways with her purse always on a mission, where she will be also missed by her second family, both the residents and the caring staff who cared for her, as well as all who knew her.

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematoriun with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. George's Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday at 11 am with Fr. Rolando Suplido officiating. Interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring. In Jeans memory, donations to the St. George's Catholic Church Building fund or a charity of the donors choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.Jean's family would like to thank the management and the wonderful staff of the Fundy Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care shown to Jean during her stay. It will forever be appreciated.
