Earl Weymouth Matthews
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB, on January 21, 2019, Earl Weymouth Matthews, husband of the late Bessie Helen (Brown) Matthews of Pennfield NB. Born in Chamcook NB on March 10, 1925, he was a son of the late Emery and Emma (Linton) Matthews. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Earl is survived by one son: Terry Matthews (Janice) of Lepreau NB; one daughter: Nancy Marlene Wishart (the late Andrew Wishart) of St. Stephen NB; grandchildren: Amy (Aaron), Eric (Holly), Conan (Angel) and Abby (Ryan); great-grandchildren: Ayden, Carter and Isla Mae; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, Earl was predeceased by his brothers: Murray "Doc" Matthews, Brad Matthews and Ernie Matthews; sisters: Phyllis Matthews and Kay Mehan. Earl was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Prior to retirement, Earl worked for 35 years as a Manager and Supervisor for Connor's Brothers in Blacks Harbour. He was a veteran, having served overseas with the Royal Canadian Army during WWII and was active from 1940-1945. In his spare time, Earl loved to be in the garage tinkering and fixing anything he could.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. In keeping with Earl's wishes, there will be no visiting or service. A private family graveside service will be held in the spring. In Earl's memory, donation to the Pennfield Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
