Glendon Hazen Borthwick

With his family at his side, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on December 2, 2018, Mr. Glendon Hazen Borthwick, gone to be with his love Ellen. Born at Pennfield NB on November 9, 1940 he was a son of the late Hazen and Daisy (Cooke) Borthwick.

Glendon was survived by his loving daughter; Sally (Tim) Richard of Pennfield NB, sons: Stephen Borthwick of Blacks Harbour NB, Tommy (Patti) Borthwick of Utopia NB and Garth (Delores) Borthwick of Pennfield NB, grandchildren; Brian Borthwick, Lindsey McFarlane, Josh Bagley, Kody Borthwick, Tyler Richard, Kendra Richard, Michael Borthwick, Raelene Wright and Mitchell Borthwick, several great grandchildren, his brother; Keith (Marion) Borthwick and family of L'Etange NB, his sister; Barbara McDowell and family of Pennfield NB, sister in law; Orla Borthwick and family of St. George NB as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife Ellen, brother; Carroll Borthwick, grandson Andrew Borthwick, brother in law; Jack McDowell and nephew; Rodney McDowell.

In his early years, Glendon worked for Connors Brothers for several years as well as several years in construction before going to work for the department of transportation until his retirement in 2000. Glendon loved a simple life on the Jack Road watching and feeding the deer. He also enjoyed visits with his friends, family and his weekly drives throughout the county he loved so much. He was proud of all his children especially his very loving and devoted daughter Sally.

Resting at Christ Church (Anglican) Pennfield NB from where the service will be held on Wednesday December 5, 2018 at 2PM followed by interment in the church cemetery. Visiting at the church on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. In Glendon's memory, donations to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, Palliative Care Ward of the Saint John Regional Hospital or a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
