In her earlier years she belonged to the militia. She was a sports fan who enjoyed hockey and baseball and was a big Maple Leaf and Blue Jay fan. Mildred also loved curling and during her life was able to attend such tournaments as the World Curling Championships and the Brier. Two of her favorite curlers she enjoyed to watch were Jeff Stoughton and Kevin Martin. She also once enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Mildred also loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.
In keeping with Mildred's wishes there will be no visiting. A celebration of her life will be held from the St. George Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 11am followed by a time of refreshments and fellowship at the Stella Maris Hall in Blacks Harbour. In lieu of flowers, donations to the I.W.K or a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family. The Lewis family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the Cooke family for their kindness, love and compassion shown to Mildred as well as the many caregivers who tended to Mildred's care the last few years.
