Rev. Garry Reid Hanley
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on November 26, 2018, Rev. Garry Reid Hanley, husband of Jean (Nichol) Hanley of Pennfield NB went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Born in Back Bay NB on April 25, 1942, he was a son of the late Beverley and Pauline (McCarty) Hanley. A loving husband, father, step-father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife Jean, he is survived by his son: Garren Hanley of Alberta; daughter: Deanna Hanley-Luevano (William) of Back Bay NB; five step-daughters and step grandchildren; six grandchildren: Nathaniel Hanley, Celeste Hanley, Cheynne Stevens, Samuel Hanley, Amaelia Luevano and Bethany Luevano; great-grandchildren: Malyke, Mayah, Tryson and Hendrix, brothers: Ronnie (Hilda), Cyril (Norma), Ellery (Donna), Clifford (Ella Mae) and Carl (Gloria), one sister: Beryl Huckins (Calder); several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Garry was predeceased by his first wife: Marguerite (Matheson) Hanley; brothers: Delton, Harold, William and Royce.

Prior to becoming a minister in the 1970's, Garry worked as a carpenter by trade and was a former member of the carpenters union. After becoming ordained, he pastored at many locations including; Monticello ME., Bath NB, Saint John NB and Honeydale NB as well as assistant pastoring at both Sea View Full Gospel Church in Back Bay NB and Cornerstone Tabernacle in St. George NB. In his earlier years was a Youth Leader. His heart was always with his church and serving his Lord. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time tinkering in his wood shop. At the time of his passing he was a member of the Cornerstone Tabernacle in St. George.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Sea View Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held at the church on Thursday at 2:00 pm with Pastor John Nickerson and Pastor Randy Crozier officiating. The interment will take place in the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring. In Garry's memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer or to the Save Our Children Fund would be appreciated by the family.
