Alden Alexander Stevens
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Alden Alexander Stevens announce his sudden passing on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB. Born in Canal NB on October 25, 1923, he was a son of the late Harry and Edith (Irving) Stevens. Alden is survived by his daughter: Amber Sentse of Basswood Ridge NB; his son: Ashley Stevens of Canal NB; his only grandchild: Ella Sentse (Yahya) of Fredericton NB; sisters-in-law: Sylvia Tinker (Ainsley "Tut"), Lee Tinker (Odell) and Betty Stevens; brother-in-law: Jimmie Mitchell (Christina); many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Alden was predeceased by his wife: Eugenia (Tinker) Stevens; one son: Albert Stevens; son-in-law: Anton Sentse; brothers: James "Jim", William "Bill" and Earl Stevens (Thelma); sister: Althea Fudge (Bob).

Alden was a veteran of the Second World War, having served overseas and in the D-Day Invasion. He was later wounded in France. Last month, he had celebrated his 95th birthday at his home where he enjoyed spending time with and catching up with his family and friends.

Alden's family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and "the gals" at Kindred Home Care for their support and assistance.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday from Noon until 1:30 pm. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will take place following the visiting at 1:30 pm. Following the tribute service, the funeral service for Alden will begin in the chapel at 2:00 pm with Rev. Reg Ward officiating. Interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery will be held at a later date. In Alden's memory, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
