Eugene Alonzo Dugas

The passing of Eugene Alonzo Dugas, of Blacks Harbour NB, occurred at Bobby's Hospice, Saint John NB on September 25, 2018 with his loved ones at his side. Born in Campbellton NB on November 24, 1949, he was a son of the late Alonzo and Genevieve (Cyr) Dugas. A loving companion and brother, Eugene is survived by his partner: Carol Moore of Blacks Harbour NB and her children, Ryan Moore, Renee Moore, Robert Moore and Rachel (Josh) Holmes; grandchildren: Sam Lily, Olivia and Hazel; siblings: Wallace "Wally" Dugas of Saint John NB, Gloria Calvin of Parleeville NB and Julien Dugas of British Columbia; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In his early years, Eugene coached Minor Ball in Beaver Harbour and enjoyed long distance cycling. Eugene completed his BA (Honors) History in 1987 and obtained his Law Degree in 2000, both at UNB. He was accepted into Ontario Bar in 2005 and NB Bar in 2006. He had a solo law practice until 2008. Eugene was active in the NB NDP Party for many years. His great loves where music, books and walking with his dogs and Carol.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Visiting will be held at Christ Church (Anglican), Pennfield NB on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will take place at the church on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Canon Caleb Twinamatsiko officiating . In Eugene's memory, donations to a Bobby's Hospice, Charlotte County Cancer or to a charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
