Nelson Andrew MacKenzie

At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on August 11, 2018, Mr. Nelson Andrew MacKenzie, beloved husband to Carole Ann (Eldridge) MacKenzie of Beaver Harbour NB. Born at Saint John NB on August 1, 1937, he was a son of the late Hurd and Florence (Dempsey) MacKenzie.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother in law, in addition to his loving wife Carole, he is survived by his daughter; Donna (Nelson) Boone of Pennfield NB, sons: David (Sherry) MacKenzie of British Columbia and Darren MacKenzie of Saint John NB and his grandchildren: Teagan, Madeline, Gracelyn, Natasha and Tara. He was predeceased by his parents and twin brothers; Ralph and Tom.

Prior to his retirement Nelson worked several years as a truck driver for General Dairies and later for Baxter's Dairy. He then came to Beaver Harbour and began a new career as the Harbour Wharfanger which he was still doing at the time of his passing. He also was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved his road adventures as well as a dedicated family man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Work and family was his life. He will be sadly missed by his family and community.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street St. George NB. Although there will be no visitation, a celebration of his life will be held at the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church on Tuesday at 11 am with Rev. Bill Lea officiating followed by a reception immediately following at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or a charity of the donors choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
