Elsie Margaret Harris

At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on June 26, 2018, Elsie Margaret (McHarg) Harris, wife of the late Howard Gorman Harris of Bethel NB. Born in Saint John NB on October 24, 1931, she was a daughter of the late John and Aurora McHarg. A loving mother, step-mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Elsie is survived by her children: Brenda (David) Harris, Debbie (Paul) Phillips and Leah Mahar; step-children: Rita Ross, Roger (Sandra) Harris, Gorman (Lorna) Harris, Kelvin Harris, Karl (Deloris) Harris, Phyllis (Mulford) Clark, Wayne (Mary) Harris and Sharon (David) Suttie; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: John (Lois) McHarg, Audrey Fraser and Douglas McHarg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Elsie was predeceased by two sons: Danny Kay and Gary Kay; step-children: Leonard Harris and Brenda Scott; siblings: Joanne Armstrong and Donnie McHarg.

Elsie enjoyed her days tending to her large family and many friends. She loved nature and was an avid bird watcher. She enjoyed playing Bingo and travelling when she was able. In her spare time, Elsie used to love to knit and made many hats, mitts and socks for her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her family.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. As keeping with Elsie's wishes there will be no public visiting or funeral service. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Charlotte County Cancer in Elsie's memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
