Ruth Stella Sherwood

The passing of Ruth Stella Sherwood, of St. Stephen NB occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on April 9, 2018. Born in Saint John NB on September 13, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Stella (Goguen) Powers. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her son: Shaun Sherwood (Tina) of Beaver Habour NB and his family: Jillian Monaghan (Michael Halcro) and her son Ryder and daughter Quinn all of Ottawa ON and Stephanie Monghan (Jessica Flemming) and her daughter Isabella all of St. George NB; her daughter: Rhonda Sherwood (Alex Roslin) and her daughters, Odessa and Sasha all of Knowlton QC; her twin brother: Ronald Powers and his wife Gayle of Saint John NB; siblings: Ralph Powers and his wife Elsa of Texas and Raymond Powers of Saint John; a sister-in-law: Lorraine Powers; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by brothers: Robert Powers and David Powers; and sister-in-law: Anita Powers.

Ruth was a very family oriented person. She loved nothing more than to be in the company of her children and grandchildren who she gave her life to. She enjoyed quilting and knitting and before her illness was known to be one of the hardest workers you could meet. Ruth was an avid animal lover, who cherished the companionship of her beloved dog, Bandit. Her love, compassion and warm smile will be missed sadly by her family and friends.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. In keeping with Ruth's wishes there will be no visiting. The family invites you to a open house in honor of Ruth, being held on Saturday at the home of Shaun and Tina, 635 Main Street, Beaver Harbour, beginning at 1:00 pm. In Ruth's memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer would be appreciated by the family.
