Leonard Robert Hooper
The passing of Leonard Robert Hooper, husband of the late Edna A. (Hanley) Hooper of Back Bay NB occurred on March 29, 2018 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB. Born in Chamcook NB on August 14, 1936, he was a son of the late Ralph and Ellen (Lee) Hooper. A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Leonard is survived by his daughter: Donalda McGee (Jerry) of Back Bay NB; grandchildren: Justin McGee (Ayumi) of Japan and Stacey Thompson of Fredericton NB; great-grandchildren: Taylor Thompson, Luke Thompson and Leon McGee; sisters: Norma Haughn (Calvert) and Jeannie Smith both of Chamcook NB; special friends: Doris Robinson of Hoyt NB and Malcolm Tucker of Pennfield NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, Leonard was predeceased by one son: Robert Hooper; and one brother: Paul Hooper.

Prior to retirement, Leonard worked at Lake Utopia Pulp and Paper. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed four wheeling and spending time at his camp in McDougall. Leonard loved baseball, especially the Red Sox, and was active as both a player and as a coach for several years. He also enjoyed hockey and could often be found cheering on the Blackhawks. Leonard truly was a family man who enjoyed being surrounded by the loves of his life, his grandchildren. His warm heart and caring smile will be missed by his family and friends.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. There will be no visiting. A service will be held at the St. George Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating followed by a reception at the Masonic Hall in St. George. The interment will take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery at a later date. In Leonard's memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Charlotte County Cancer would be appreciated by the family.
