Edward Darrell Thorne
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on March 2, 2018, Edward Darrell Thorne, husband of Nancy (Harmon) Thorne of Bocabec NB. Born in Fredericton NB on April 6, 1947, he was a son of the late Clifton and Anna Marie (Kingston) Thorne. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife Nancy, Edward is survived by one son: Jamie (Melissa) Thorne of Canal NB; daughter: Teena Thorne (Rob Stears) of Saint John NB; step-daughter: Julie (Jeff) Ross of St. George NB; grandchildren: Devin, Kara, Kyle, Kohen, Logan, Griffin and Addison; one great-grandson: Bennett; brothers: Joseph (Debbie) Thorne of Oven Head NB, Bobby (Belinda) Thorne, David Thorne and Christopher (Brenda) Thorne all of Canal NB and Clifton (Deenie) Thorne of Fredericton NB; sisters: Ramona (Gary) Vance of St. George NB, Mary (Roger) Young of Canal NB and Patty (Mort) Frost of St. Stephen NB; in-laws: Paul (Rona) Harmon of Bocabec NB, Pauline (Allen) Stewart of Bethel NB and Raymond (Sandra) Coughlan of Fredericton NB; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Guy and Louise McLaughlin of Saint John; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife: Barbara Ann (Scott) Thorne.

Prior to retirement, Edward worked for 40+ years as a heavy equipment operator for various local companies and he especially enjoyed operating an Excavator. He was a member of the International Union of Operators Local # 946. Edward enjoyed other jobs such as preparing kindling and camp fire bundles for local stores. He always looked forward to blueberry season every year and contributing to the local wreath industry.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at St. Marks Anglican Church with visiting on Monday from 5-8 pm. The service will be held from the church on Tuesday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Mary Ann Langmaid officiating. The interment will be held in the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring. In Edward's memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
