Myra Lillian Spear

1926-2018

Myra Lillian Spear
After a lengthy stay at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB on February 28, 2018, Myra Lilian (Brooks) Spear, wife of the late Gordon Earl Spear, left very unexpectedly for her Heavenly home.

Born at home on White Head Island, NB, Myra was the daughter of the late Bertie and Essie (Miller) Brooks. A loving Mother, Myra is survived by her son Alvin Spear, St. George, NB and her daughter Maxine (David R.)Justason of Pennfield, NB; grandchildren, Deborah, Amanda and Daniel, step grandchildren, Tanya, Doug Jr. and Jamie; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Myra was the last remaining member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband Gordon, Myra was predeceased by her first husband, Glendon Adams, her special friend, Aurele Comeau, her brothers, Gordon, Harold and Harley; sisters, Mary and Rhoda.

Myra was a Hairdresser by trade and took her training at the Vocational School in Saint John, in the late 50’s, evenings after she got done her day job at Woolworths, uptown. She started her own business in St. George in the early sixties and worked from home while raising her family. She continued to do hair for 50 plus years and there are not many residents of the area that she has not done their hair at one time or another.

She had a great love of music which she enjoyed over the years and could be seen and heard usually every Sunday singing Harmony at the Bayside Jam right up until her hospital stay prevented her from doing so. Myra had a wonderful sense of humour with a very quick dry wit and loved to laugh. That smile, those brilliant blue eyes along with that caring and compassionate personality will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.

An Angel with a voice so golden and pure has now taken her rightful place in Heavens choir.
