Edythe Thelma Smith
At Passamaquaddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB on January 4, 2018, Mrs. Edythe Thelma (Buckley) Smith, beloved wife of the late Harold T. Smith, formally of Pennfield NB.

Born at Saint John NB on August 25, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Willis and Caroline (Fullerton) Buckley.

A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her sons: Brian Smith and Rick (Olive) Smith both of Pennfield NB, grandchildren: Angela (Ted) Weaire, Chris (Amanda) Smith, Lori-Beth Guthrie (Jason Robinson), Brianne (Matthew) Winchester, Jeremy (Sara) Smith, Joel Smith, Jana (Joe) Long and Chinena; 13 great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband Harold, she was predeceased by a son Robert Joel Smith and her brothers: Wilfred, Gerald and Bertrum.

Prior to her retirement, Edythe worked for several years along side of her beloved Harold operating Smitty's and later Smiths Restaurant and Motel at Pennfield Ridge. Edythe also enjoyed music and loved to sing and play the piano. She also was a long time member of the Wesleyan Church in Blacks Harbour and enjoyed spending time at Beulah Camp and most importantly with her loving family especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Visitation will be held at the Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church, Blacks Harbour NB on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will take place at the church on Sunday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Greg Card officiating. The interment will be held in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery in the spring. In Edythe's memory, donations to a Charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
