Harold Clyde Hooper Sr.
Surrounded by his family at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB, on October 8, 2017, Harold Clyde Hooper Sr. of Utopia NB. Born in Back Bay NB on May 29, 1933, he was a son of the late Emery and Della (Hanley) Hooper. A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Harold is survived by daughters: Rosely (Mark) Davey of Saint John NB, Melissa (Lisa) Hooper-Fallon also of Saint John NB, Mary Davey (Scott MacDonald) of Pictou NS and Barbara Gray of Prince George BC; sons: Harold "Clyde" Hooper of Utopia NB, Terry (Louise) Hooper of Saint John NB and David (Isla) of Iroquois ON; daughter-in-law: Barb of Saint John NB; step-children: Betty Ann Jones and Keith (Betty Ann) Armstrong both of Saint John NB; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers: Edward Hooper of Winchester ON, Joe (Barb) Hooper of Pasadena NL and Richard (Lorraine) Hooper of Pennfield NB; sisters: Audrey (Vance) McLeese of Winchester ON and Thelma (Carl) Scott of Scarborough ON; special friend: Norma MacDonald; special person: Jason; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by his first wife: Carol (Westecott) Hooper; his second wife: Jean (Stewart) Hooper; son: Pastor Robert "Joe" Hooper; brother: Albert Hooper; and special niece: Diane Annable .

Prior to his retirement, Harold worked at Lake Utopia Paper for more than 25 years as a labourer. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and four-wheeling. He was also an avid sports fan, who had a passion for his Blue Jays and Leafs. He loved to socialize, especially at the mall, and enjoyed traveling. Harold loved his family and was often known to be slipping toonies to his grandchildren. He was a long time member of the Sea View Full Gospel Church in Back Bay where he was active in the Seniors Fellowship. He will be sadly missed by his large family and many friends.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St George NB. Resting at the Sea View Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB with visiting on Tuesday from 6-8 pm and visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The service will be held at the church on Thursday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke and Rev. Matt Hooper officiating followed by the interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Harold's memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer, Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
