1928-2017

J. Marie  Coulton
The passing of Julianne "Marie" Coulton, wife of the late Walter Chappel Coulton formerly of Lepreau NB, occurred peacefully surrounded by her family at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on August 31, 2017. Born in Chatham NB on September 29, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Phoebe (Chevarie) Maillet.

A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister, Marie is survived by her children: Lynda Nickerson (Bill) of Pennfield, Carolyn Barriault (Paul) of Dipper Harbour, John Coulton (Sheila) of Saint John, Walter Coulton Jr. (Judy) of Utopia, Irene Tinker (Louis) of Rollingdam, Sandra Ferris (Ron) of Saint John, Larry Coulton (Theresa) of Saint John, Tony Coulton (Margaret) of Lepreau, Theresa Burke (Johnny) of Pennfield, Donna Purdy (John) of Saint John, Charlene LeBlanc (Gary) of Saint John, Terry Coulton (Sue) of Ontario, Sheila Guerrier (Steve) of Saint John and Laura Coulton of Lakeville; step-daughter: Shirley Lord (Barry) of Rollingdam; 45 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Freda Martin (Leonard) of Ontario, Yvonne Bouchard of Fredericton, Orise Crossman of St. George and Irene Richard (Gerald) of St. George; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Walter Sr., Marie was predeceased by one daughter: Dianne Coulton; grandchildren: Joey Lord and Loucinda Jacques; great-grandchildren: Carolyn Warnock and Johnny Leavitt; brothers: Arthur, Joe, Everett and Eddie Maillet; and by sisters: Rose Amie Anderson and Alice Tidd.

Prior to having her family, Marie worked various jobs, but by far her most rewarding career was being a mother. She loved music and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. Strong in her faith, Marie loved her church and church family and valued the years she spent attending Bethany Baptist Church in Lepreau. Her devotion to her family will always be cherished and lovingly remembered.

A heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Fundy Nursing Home and SJRH Palliative Care Unit for the exceptional care of Marie during her stay with them.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Bethany Baptist Church, 633 Route 790, Little Lepreau NB with visiting on Monday, September 4, 2017 from 1:00 - 9:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the church on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor Ben Warner and Pastor Bart Gragtmans officiating. The interment will be held in St. Georges Catholic Church Cemetery, St. George NB immediately following the service. In Marie's memory, donations to local missionary projects or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
