Madonna Fay Stewart
Unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on February 22, 2017, Madonna Fay (Hatt) Stewart, wife of the late William Allan Stewart of L'Etang NB. Born in Back Bay NB on November 18, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Georgia (Cooke) Hatt. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Madonna is survived by three sons: Royden (Cathy) Stewart, Lee (Michelle) Stewart and Garry Stewart all of L'Etang NB; daughters: Nancy Coulton, Lorrie Stewart and Beth Stewart (Bernard LeBlanc) all of St. George NB and Lynn (Kevin) Bodechon of Saint John NB; grandchildren: Wendy, Angie, Melissa, Megan, Darcy, Erin, Shenine and Kelsey; great-grandchildren: Raelynn, Khylee, Georgia, Lily, Darby and a baby girl on the way; identical twin sister: Barbara Foster of Burton NB; sister: Joyce French of Blacks Harbour NB; brother: Reid (Shirley) Hatt of Back Bay NB; uncle: Henry Hatt of L'Etang NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Madonna was predeceased by one daughter Ruth Ann Stewart.

A loving and caring soul, Madonna devoted her life to her family and Church. She was a babysitter for most of her family and many other local area children who all called her Nanny. She was an active member in the Sea View Full Gospel Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 48 years and was a proud Prayer Warrior. She truly lived for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank Kindred Home Care Support Services for their kindness and compassion shown to Mom. Nicole Justina and Andrea Stewart we are forever grateful for your help. A special thank you to Candace LeBlanc, the support that you have shown to our family was truly invaluable and will always be remembered with great gratitude and love, and also to the St. George Fire Department and the Fundy Bay Fire Department for your fast response and unselfish efforts when attending to Mom, the family appreciates all that was done.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Sea View Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held from the church on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating. The interment will be take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada or to a charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
