Helen Margaret (Waite) (Feeney) Keirstead
Helen Margaret (Waite) (Feeney) Keirstead passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit on February 1, 2017 at the age of 96. Born in Beaver Harbour, NB on July 22, 1920. She was the daughter of the late William Warren and Sarah Edna (Eldridge) Waite and the wife of Douglas Lee Keirstead.

Helen is survived by her husband of 41 years, her two daughters Beverly (Eric) Thompson of Dipper Harbour, NB, Cheryl (Graden) Young of Colpitts Settlement, NB, step-children Donna Stewart of Bowmanville, ON, and Wallace (Carolyn) Keirstead of Riverview, NB. Her grandchildren are Derek (Marina) Thompson, Danny (Tanisha) Thompson, Neil (Talia Profit) Young, Jocelyn (Jonathan) Skaarup, Catherine (Gregory) Young Morris and step-grandchildren Zachary (Julie) Stewart, Vanessa (Michael) Horrigan, Ian Keirstead and Heather Keirstead. She has fourteen great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and one surviving sister-in-law Roseanne Waite.

Helen was predeceased by her parents, her first husband Louis John Feeney, two infant sons, as well as her brothers Osborne Waite, John Waite, Burrell Waite, Douglas Waite, half brother Ronald Price and half sisters Edith (Waite) Crowell and Olive (Waite) Olsen.

Helen was proud to have lived her life in Beaver Harbour, NB. She cared very deeply for her family. She was a homemaker, owned and operated a canteen in Beaver Harbour and then worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia in Blacks Harbour from which she retired as a Loans Officer. She and Doug enjoyed travelling and wintered several years in Florida. Helen loved dogs and Snoopy was a close companion.

Many thanks to all those who tended to Helen's care including Extra-Mural, Kindred Home Care, Susan Johnston, Jolene Blanchard, Dr. Hameed, Staff at the Charlotte County Hospital, Fundy Nursing Home and Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Visiting at the funeral home will take place on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held from the Christ Church (Anglican), Pennfield NB on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Canon Keith Osborne officiating. In Helen's memory, donations to Christ Church (Anglican) in Pennfield NB or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
