Zelda Mae Smith
The passing of Zelda Mae (Leslie) Smith, of Lord's Cove NB, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on November 4, 2016. Born in St. Stephen, NB on August 26, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Maxwell and Ina Leslie. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Zelda is survived by one son: Michael Smith (Preeti Varu) of Quispamsis NB; one daughter: Donna Smith of Salisbury NB; grandchildren: Stephen (Amanda) Smith of Rothesay NB, Alexandra Smith of Quispamsis NB, Millen and Aiden Nixon both of Salisbury NB; three great-grandchildren: Cohen, Emery and Oliver; her sisters: Shirley Lord and Linda Camic both of Lord's Cove NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and loving husband; Thomas "Howard" Smith, Zelda was predeceased by one brother; Earle Leslie.

Zelda was truly a lover of the simple things in life. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In her quiet time, Zelda enjoyed to read and crochet. She loved the outdoors and could often be found out in her flower garden or simply enjoying a long walk. She was a long time member of the Lord's Cove Church of Christ, Lord's Cove NB where her love of music allowed her to be an active member in the Church Choir.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at the Lord's Cove Church of Christ, Lord's Cove NB on Saturday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Glenn Cox and Rev. Jonathan Hatt officiating, followed by the interment at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Zelda's memory to the ALS Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
