June Esther Rafuse
Unexpectedly at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on July 29, 2016 Mrs. June Esther (Bateman) Rafuse of St. George NB, wife of the late Charles A. Rafuse. Born at Old Shediac Road, Moncton NB on February 20, 1936 she was a daughter of the late Amos and Ella (Wood) Bateman.

A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, June is survived by her sons: Terry (Virginia) of Mississauga ON and Mark (Brenda) of Kanata ON, her grandchildren: Brandon and Cassy, two sisters: Emily Steeves of Peticodiac NB and Joy (Arnold) Welling of Shediac Cape NB, her brother; Ronald (Winnie) Bateman of Bateman's Mills NB as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Charlie, three brothers: Arthur, Ellwood and Gordon and three sisters: Gladys, Hazel "Anne" and Joan.

Prior to her retirement, June worked with Steadmans and previous to that in the retail industry for Eatons, Frenchies, Canada Post and for a short time with Connors Brothers. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a member of the O. E. S Granite Chapter # 15 where she was Past Matron and most recently Grand Representative of Rhode Island in New Brunswick. June also was involved with the Harbour View Seniors where she served both as Secretary and most recently as President as well as a life member of the Kinnette Clubs of Canada.

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium with visiting on Friday from 6-8 pm. The service will be held on Saturday from Christ Church (Anglican) in Pennfield at 2 pm with Rev. Canon Keith Osborne officiating. A reception will follow at the Masonic Lodge in St. George. An O E S service will be held at 1:30 pm prior to the service. In Junes memory, donations to the Lottie L. Kyle Scholarship Fund c/o O. E. S. Granite Chapter # 15 St. George or charity of the donors choice.
