Isaac "Eldon" Young

Peacefully at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing in Saint John NB on July 17, 2016, Mr. I. Eldon Young of St. George NB and formerly of Pennfield NB, husband of the late Lena Roberta (Maxwell) Young. Born in Pennfield NB, on May 27, 1925, he was a son of the late Harry and Alverna (Justason) Young.

A loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, Eldon is survived by his son: Edward Young (Sarah Dunfield) of Pennfield NB; his daughters: Judith Moffett of Ottawa ON, Iris (William) Black of Orleans ON, Deborah Young of Windsor ON and Cynthia Young of Vancouver BC; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; his brother: James (Velma) Young of London ON; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife, Roberta, Eldon was predeceased by a sister, Laura Pratt and by five brothers: Horace, Preston, Willard, Ralph and Cyril.

Eldon lived and worked for several years in Ontario having retired from Labatt Breweries in London ON. He also served and was a proud veteran of the Second World War having served overseas twice throughout Europe and North Africa from Italy to Belgium with the Governor Generals Horse Guards Tank Fifth Division. Eldon was also an avid outdoorsman who either enjoyed hunting or tinkering around his property. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 39 in Blacks Harbour. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM with Rev. John Martin officiating followed by the interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home on Monday from 7-9 PM and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Royal Canadian Legion Branches # 39 and 40 will be holding a tribute service at the funeral on Monday after 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
