Jack Winslow Pendleton

1963-2016

Jack Winslow Pendleton
Jack Winslow Pendleton, 53, of Deer Island/Lake Digdeguash, NB, died in the early morning hours of May 31, 2016. After spending most of his illness in the comfort of his home, Jack passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital. At the time of his passing, Jack was supported and comforted by his family members.

Jack was preceded in death by his brothers Loren (Carol) Pendleton and Vance (April) Pendleton. Jack is survived by his wife of 30 years, Leslie Pendleton and children Corey, Cody, Kelsey and Keegan Pendleton. As well, he is survived by his parents Keith and Bellmon Pendleton and his siblings Anne Leslie, Christopher (Patricia) Pendleton, Kathy (Arthur) Carpenter, Kingsley (Kelly) Pendleton, his sister-in-law Sherry Gallagher (Gordie Eldridge) and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jack was born in St. Stephen, NB on May 21, 1963 and was the son of Keith and Bellmon Pendleton of Deer Island, NB. He was born the fifth of seven children and spent his childhood and a majority of his adult life on Deer Island. Jack later moved his family to the mainland and took up permanent residence on Lake Digedguash.

He was a member of the Abnaki 55 Lodge on Deer Island and later became a Shriner. Jack was an entrepreneur with a long history in aquaculture and marine contracting.

Jack was caring and kind and the value he placed on his family was infinite. The importance of his family, both immediate and extended, was reflective in all that he did, throughout his life. Jack had a fun loving spirit and he never missed the opportunity to spend quality time with his loved ones. He loved to travel and many highlights of his life were spent on holidays with his family. Jack was loved by all who knew him.

Jack’s belief in his faith, his generous nature and willingness to help others, led him to opportunities for volunteering and mission work. He traveled to Cape Town, South Africa with the Church of Christ and took part in missionary work with the Three Angels Children’s Relief in Haiti.

At this time, the Pendleton family would like to express their sincere thanks to all of their family and friends who have visited, supporting them and supplying meals. A special thank you to Donna and those she organized to provide meals for the family each day, to Kimmie and the extra-mural staff who have provided a tremendous amount of support and impeccable care to Jack during his illness, and to the doctors and nurses at the Saint John Regional Hospital. The family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to the following people, for helping to keep things afloat: Tim, Jim, Kyle, Fabian, Rob, Mark, Reid, Jeff, Ryan.
