Laura Maud Butler
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on May 28, 2016, Laura Maud (Hanson) Butler, wife of the late George A. Butler of Pennfield NB. Born in Bocabec NB on October 31, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Annie Myrtle (Orr) Hanson. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother she is survived by her children: Hazel Richardson of Lake Utopia NB, Pandra Bryant of Back Bay NB, Brenda Smith of Pennfield NB, Patrick Butler of Deer Island NB, Dennis Butler of Lake Utopia NB, Karen Butler of St. George NB, Rose Butler of Deer Island NB and Shirley Reid of Pennfield NB; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Laura was predeceased by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Prior to retirement, Laura worked various jobs including being a packer for Connors Bros. and doing housekeeping for local residents. She had a love of music and enjoyed dancing and lately she especially enjoyed attending the Pick and Jam in Oak Bay. In her quiet time she could be found doing a puzzle book and visiting with her family.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Visiting at the funeral home will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held from the Lord's Cove Church of Christ, Lord's Cove NB on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Conrad Cline officiating, followed by the interment in Mount Hope Cemetery. In Laura's memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer or to the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
