Gaetan Lewis Palk

Unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on May 11, 2016, Gaetan Lewis Palk, common law husband of Alda Turner of Pennfield NB. Born in St. Stephen NB on January 27, 1957, he was a son of the late Roy and Emelda (Michaud) Palk. A loving husband, step-father, step-grandfather and brother, in addition to his common law wife, Alda, he is survived by one step-daughter: Misti Gray of Alberta; step-grandchildren: Ethan, Hunter, Fiona and Noah all of Alberta; brothers: Alfred Palk (Faith Gagne) of St. George, Phillip Palk (Nina) of Manitoba, Leo (Lorraine) Palk of St. George and Cecil (Linda) Palk of Pennfield; sisters: Mary Anne (Cleveland) Justason of St. George, Alice (Peter) Boudreau of Beaver Harbour, Brenda (Robert) Gaudet of Pennfield and Doreen Gaudette of Fredericton, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Gaetan was predeceased by one brother in infancy: Gregory.

Gaetan was currently employed with the Ardagh Group in the Can and Cover Division in Blacks Harbour. An avid outdoorsman Gaetan enjoyed hunting, fishing biking and especially canoeing as he canoed most of the river and lakes in the local area. Gaetan was an animal lover who especially loved dogs and enjoyed bird watching.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the funeral home from where the service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating followed by the interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Visiting will take place on Saturday from noon until the service time at 2:00 pm. In Gaetan's memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
